Johannes Rebane – President
My name is Johannes – I am a fourth year Finance and International Relations student, and I am absolutely stoked to serve as your CUS President this upcoming year! I’ve been involved all across campus over the last three and a half years – from being VP Academic in the CUS and AMS, to starting up the International Business Club, and serving this past year. All that experience was great, but the CUS really called me home this past year, where I hope to help make it an awesome time for everyone. Aside from school and the CUS, music is one of my huge passions, and I love to compose, record, and produce music in my free time. I also love to explore campus and meet new people, so feel free to introduce yourself whenever you see me wandering around CA Hall!
Hi, I’m Chrisanne Kouzas and I’m currently a second year Sauder student, intending on specializing in marketing. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and arrived in Vancouver in September 2009 to begin my first year of studies at UBC. I’m also half Greek, and Greek culture has always been a big part of my life. Because of my (very) multi-cultural heritage, I am lucky enough to be able to speak 4 languages (English; Afrikaans; Zulu and Greek), and have traveled a lot. I enjoy living on campus, and in line with my interests in marketing, I am marketing director on the Marine Drive Residence Association. As your newly-elected CUS ombudsperson, I feel extremely privileged and exited to have the opportunity to represent the interests of a vastly diverse Sauder student body, and promote equity and embrace diversity within the CUS this year!
Dylan Callow – VP Academic
Hi, my name is Dylan Callow and I feel privileged to be your VP Academic. Coming all the way from Victoria, BC, I am currently a 3rd year student in the always interesting Accounting option. I’ve been involved in the CUS for some time, from running events to acting as an AMS Rep last year. I’m really interested in improving the academic curriculum and helping to better prepare students for a future career or masters/doctorate. I am a huge Canucks and Whitecaps fan, and I’m sure you would be able to pick me out of a crowd at any of the games. Whether it is kayaking, camping, or a nice day on the golf course, I also love the outdoors.
Sara Hladun is a third-year Accounting student at the Sauder School of Business. When she isn’t enjoying long walks on the beach, she can be found running the Wreck Beach stairs. Her past two years of involvement with 5 Days for the Homeless have taught Sara valuable lessons on how to remain organized, stay humble, and make the most of life. In addition to volunteering with the UBC Wellness Centre, eleven years of ringette and five years of lacrosse have allowed Sara to realize that she loves working with others in a leadership position. On a side note, Sara has developed excellent party skills thanks to a stint on SoCo, and takes her role as a PIT regular seriously.Sara believes that it is crucial to incorporate extra-curricular activities into our busy academic lifestyles, and is excited to enhance the lives of Sauder students this year. Sara will be taking her new position as the Vice President of Engagement 2011/2012 to heart, and she promises to go above and beyond standards to bring Sauder students the best experiences they have ever had.
Andrea Yeung – VP External
My name is Andrea Yeung and I am currently completing my second year at Sauder. I am extremely grateful to be able to serve the CUS as the incoming VP External. My previous experience with the CUS include leadership and management positions with the First Year Committee, FROSH 2010, and the Corporate Relations Team. I truly believe these experiences have allowed me to learn the many skill sets necessary to succeed as VP External. What I hope to bring to this diverse portfolio’s range of conferences, events and services this year center around adding value to your education beyond the standard business textbook. Whether you’re looking for a mentor in your field of choice, wanting to put your skills to the test by joining the CUS’ sponsorship initiative or simply wanting to attend a conference at Sauder, you can rest assured that we’ll have what you’re looking for. Don’t hesitate to email me or stop me for a chat in the CA hall if you’re interested in getting involved and I look forward to seeing you all at our wonderful events this year!
David Lam – VP Finance
David Lam is a third year Finance Co-op student at the Sauder School of Business. He has accumulated over 5 years of sales experience through working in the retail and wholesale industry, and is also a certified Provincial Volleyball Official for over 6 years. He is also an active volunteer for Atira Women’s Resource Society, a community-based organization that supports women and their children who are impacted by violence. As the outgoing Financial Services Director of the CUS, and the Conference Director of the National Investment Banking Competition & Conference, he understands and values the importance of creating value to students through the CUS.
Hi! My name is Julie, and I am your new VP Internal. My job is to make sure you get as much access as you can to Sauder facilities such as room bookings at the new HA building opening next term! Last year, I was president of BizzComm and this year I will work closely with CUS clubs in a supporting role. On a more personal note, I was born in China, brought up in Japan and Canada, so please do not feel intimidated when you hear me speak three languages. In my spare time I like to play piano, volleyball, and I love to cook! If you ever see me around Sauder, please feel free to come and talk to me! I would love to hear your thoughts!
Chris MacDonald – VP Marketing
