The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is an inspiring event that brings together more than 200,000 people throughout Canada to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and empower individuals and communities to fight back against cancer.
Relay brings people in your community together who have a common goal of fighting cancer. Join us in this inspirational, non-competitive, 12-hour event on the North Shore on Saturday, June 8th, 2013.
How Can You Get Involved?
Are you interested in getting involved to make it bigger and better for 2013? The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for superstar volunteers who are energetic, organized and like to get things done in the following areas:
- Event Development: Help plan the event logistics, activities and entertainment to ensure a high quality event experience
- Team Development: Support team retention and recruitment in your community
- Fundraising Development: Help maximize the event’s potential and growth through individual and team fundraising
- Survivor Development: Help engage cancer survivors, their families and caregivers to be a part of Relay For Life
Time commitment for all roles is approximately 4-6 hours per week from now to July 2013, and is flexible to your schedule. Please note that the meetings are held at our GVR office near Main Station and therefore, you do not need to live close to the North Shore to be part of this committee!
