The Canaccord Learning Commons Has Got Your Fix

The Canaccord Learning Commons is starting to roll out their various academic services.

Starting this week (of September 10th): WRITING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (WIP). If you have problems writing good, come to the CLC Front Desk and sign up for an appointment for WIP. The program provides one-on-one coaching from a professional business writer. Bring a paper or business document you are working on (for instance your CA Recruit documents, hint hint) and our professionals will help you improve your writing. WIP is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-4pm, and on Thursdays from 11-2pm, in CLC219.

Starting next week (of September 17th): MATH TUTORING. Math 104/184 is a pain. That is, unless you come learn from senior Sauder students who have experience in teaching first-year Calculus. Some of these people are even pursuing a minor/double major in Mathematics, but other than that, they”re pretty normal people that are super helpful. Math Tutoring is held on Mondays from 11-1pm, Tuesdays from 4-6pm, and Fridays from 10-12am, in CLC219Once again, sign up for appointments at the CLC Front Desk.

Starting next next week (of September 24th): PRESENTATION COACHING. Learn how to up your slide deck from students who have successfully competed in international case competitions and worked for consulting firms. These workshops are held on Mondays from 2-6pm, Tuesdays from 10-1pm, Wednesdays 4-6pm, Thursday 2-6pm, and Fridays 1-3pm, in CLC219.

Staring next next week as well: FINANCE WORKSHOPS. The CLC will host tutorials on Bloomberg and CapitalIQ, for those students that want to get their banker on. Dates are TBA, and will not be held in CLC219, but in the Wayne Deans Investment Analysis Centre (also known as the Trading Lab), conveniently located besides the CLC.
