What is a “Salon”? Salons are a time-honoured forum for discussion and exchange of ideas.

VANCOUVER+acumen, a local chapter of Acumen Fund, is teaming up with the Social Enterprise Club and the Commerce Community Program to host Student Salons on the UBC campus! This Salon will host 25 students and is open to students from all majors and years.

Each salon has a different theme and will be based upon two short pieces of content related to that theme. You never know where the conversation will take you (or where you will take the conversation!). This month’s theme is: “On Greatness” and will revolve around the concept of socially driven business, finding a fulfilling career and making a positive change,

We hope that the discussion will spur your imagination and challenge you to think critically while inspiring you to think differently. The purpose of the Salon is simply to have a great conversation with other students who are interested in discussing interesting topics.

Acumen Fund is a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty.
