Competition Details

Are you a current student interested in the challenging realm of business development in emerging markets? Are you looking to sharpen your case competition skills and meet industry professionals? If so, then the Vancouver for Acumen Fund case competition is for you.

The competition is open to 50 current students in teams of two (25 teams) , undergraduate and postgraduate. Registration is on a first-come-first serve basis. Deadline is February 16th at midnight. Cost of registration is $25 per student ( $50 per team) and online casino is paid upon confirmation of registration.

The competition is structured as two workshops (4 hours mandatory, 2 hours optional) and one case competition. The workshops will cover the fundamentals of case analysis, Acumen Fund’s investment model, a walk-through case example and application of effective presentations. The workshops will be delivered by the head coach of UBC’s JDC team (champions for 2 consecutive years in a Western Canada business school case competition). Competition judges will consist of industry leaders, professors and professionals in the area of social enterprise and finance in Vancouver.
