” Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for your support throughout my Interim Presidency and campaigning period. I am very excited to start my new position as CUS President. This opportunity is a dream come true for me and I hope to serve with the utmost passion, respect and kindness. Since my first year I have been as involved and present as possible in the Sauder Community. I have had the pleasure of serving as JDC West Executive, Associate Vice President Student Engagement, Vice President Academic Affairs and a COMM101 TA. Through all of these positions I have been surrounded by supportive and inspiring individuals who truly make the Sauder Community a special place to be. I hope to create opportunities for students that highlight the connected, inclusive and empowering aspects of Sauder.

Being online creates a lot of new challenges as well as opportunities for the CUS this year. As we continue to navigate UBC’s first virtual school year, the CUS will be prioritizing online engagement, academic advocacy, consent culture and professional development. The CUS is more committed than ever this year to empower students personally, professionally and academically. If you have any questions, feedback, comments or concerns please feel free to reach out to me at I am so excited to see what we can accomplish together this year!

Kristian Oppenheim,
CUS President 2020-2021
