On Thursday, September 23rd, the International Business Club will be hosting its very first IB Seminar. Focusing specifically on the three regions of Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, our seminars are essentially gatherings of students interested in acquiring the appropriate skills to properly conduct business in different parts of the world.
Our first Seminar of the year will be focusing on the country of Japan. We will be inviting inspiring students and professionals, including Dr. Sean Somers, to talk about the unique business etiquette, dining etiquette, language phrases, and cultural norms of the Japanese culture in order to prepare students for future success in the global marketplace.
Dr. Sean Somers, a Professor of English at UBC, has spent several years in Japan, immersing himself in the culture and language of the popular region. He is excited to share his experiences with the International Business Club community, and we are thrilled to have him as our guest speaker.
This event is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in working or going on exchange in the Asiatic region in the future.
