ACUMEN VANCOUVER LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

1.       Acumen

a.       Acumen is a non-profit that raises charitable donations to invest in companies, leaders, and ideas that are changing the way the world tackles poverty. Acumen does this through investment operations in the developing world, and global network of volunteer chapters.

2.       +Acumen

a.       +Acumen Chapters are volunteer-led groups, learning and sharing Acumen’s principles and approach to create a world beyond poverty. VANCOUVER+acumen is building a community. We exist to change the way people perceive themselves, others, and the world they live in.

3.       Event: Case Competition

a.       VANCOUVER+acumen holds an annual Case Competition, which allows for students to step into the shoes of a consultant, challenging them to think critically and differently. The purpose is to build on the theory students learn in school, giving them a different approach to business problem solving.

ACUMEN is looking for volunteers for their mock case competition (November 3rd) and case competition (November 23rd) who are interested in learning more about business problem solving and social entrepreneurship. The case competition will be held at UBC, and volunteers would have expected duties (registration, minor logistics, time keeping, etc) while working alongside other Chapter members.
