What can the Ombudsperson do for you?
Advocate for you
Whether it’s an issue with hiring, policy, or academics, the CUS Ombuds office is here to support you and ensure that your interests are being fairly represented within the CUS and Sauder. We help bring about a fair resolution by facilitating discussion through informal channels and providing a link between you and the CUS.
Connect you to Resources
One key function of the Ombuds office is to refer you to people who can help when a problem is outside of the Ombudsperson’s direct span of control.
Act as your Window into the CUS
As an undergraduate student, the CUS aims to serve you and your interests. However, its policies and decisions are not always simple or transparent. The Ombuds office ensures that your comments, questions, and concerns about the CUS are addressed and considered in CUS proceedings.
Visit me in my office (239D in the Sauder student lounge) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. We have ample stocks of candy and tea for anyone who wants to drop by and say ‘hello’!”
