The CUS is excited to propose an updated Constitution for the Commerce Undergraduate Society.
The CUS Constitution governs the operations and mandate of the society. A copy of the current version can be found here: http://cus.ca/governance/code-constitution/.
For the Constitution to be confirmed, it must pass a school-wide referendum with a 2/3rds majority voting in favour of the changes and at least 10% of the student body voting.
The proposed changes were inspired by the Community Report and developed by Policy Committee on January 5th. The CUS Board of Directors ratified the proposal on January 11th and has officially requested a referendum from the Elections Committee. The referendum is set to occur on January 24th, 2018 in alignment with the CUS General Election.
The CUS Board of Directors has adopted a “yes” position on this referendum and encourages students to vote in favour of it.
